Deutsch, Adolph, composer, director; b. London, Eng., Oct. 20, 1897. ASCAP 1940. U.S. citizen. Educ: Polytechnic School, London; studied piano and composition at the Royal Acad, of Music, London; to U.S. at thirteen. Arranger for popular or­chestras; composed and conducted stage and radio productions. Under contract to motion picture companies to compose and conduct film music. Now vice-president of newly formed Screen Composers' Assn. Composed original scores for over seventy-five films, including: They Won't Forget; The Maltese Falcon; Action in the North Atlantic; The Mask of Dimi-trios; Father of the Bride; Stars in My Crown; The Stratton Story; Annie Get Your Gun (Acad. Award 1950). Symphonic compositions: The Scot­tish Suite; March of the United Na­tions. Songs: "Margot"; "Clarabelle"; "Three Sisters"; "Piano Echoes"; "Skyride"; "Stairways."
